Special WWI Edition and consecutive serial numbers.

In 2006 The Sheridan Village Board approved a request to build a Veterans Memorial in a vacant lot behind the village hall. They put a condition on this construction and that was no tax dollars would be used, all would have to be from donations.

I began with the usual fund raisers, poker runs, golf outings, etc. I came up with the idea of raffling off firearms. Not just any arms but the same arms our hero's used to defend our freedom. In 2007 we raffled a Springfield Armory M1A 7.62 rifle which raised over $11,000.00. In 2008 we raffled off a pair of Springfield Armory 1911 .45ACP pistols which raised approximately $12,000.00. In 2009 we raffled off a Springfield Armory M1 Garand which raised over $9,000.00.

In 2010 we raffled off a Colt AR-15 .5.56 rifle which raised approximately $10,000.00. No funds were raised in 2011 at all for the memorial and I was asked to again take over fund raising duties.,

It's also very important to know that EVERY cent raised go's to the Veterans Memorial, no percentage of the funds are taken out. It is estimated that another $40,000.00 is needed to complete the memorial.
